This project provides access to quality education and treatment facilities in the rural communities of Oyo State Nigeria, through identification and enrollment of Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) affected by HIV/AIDS and terror insurgents into schools with extensive and qualitative health care and support services. The project's 6+1 cores services support include education, health, food and nutrition, shelter, vocational, empowerment and child protection to meet the basic needs of the OVC with more than 100 children currently enrolled in the program.
Challenge: The increase in the death of HIV/AIDS infected parents and displaced children in Nigeria have left many children in rural villages uncared for and denied education. Instead of engaging them in hard labour by their careproviders, TEDI will enrol them under its OVC program to access quality education, care and support and an opportunity to become part of a larger solution for their communities.
